How to choose your duvet?

There are two important elements to consider when buying a new duvet – the filling and the tog rating. Decide between natural or synthetic fillings and check the tog rating to measure the warmth and thickness of the duvet.

WHAT TOG?
Choosing a Tog Rating

A tog rating is a measure of the duvet’s ability to trap warm air. The higher the rating, the warmer the duvet will be. Choosing the right tog is important because if you’re too hot or too cold in bed, you won’t get a good night’s sleep. Use the chart below as a guide.

Tog Ratings explained

The weight, softness and warmth of a duvet depends on its tog rating and filling. The higher the tog rating, the warmer the duvet
4.5 Tog: A lighter duvet, perfect for using during summer months or in warmer climates
7.5 Tog: A lighter duvet, perfect for using during summer months or in warmer climates
10.5 Tog: Ideal for spring and autumn, or for using year-round in a home with central heating
13.5 Tog: Suitable for cooler months or if you prefer a really warm and snug duvet (or if your bedroom is cold)
